Identity Week Europe 2025 is scheduled for June 17-18 at the RAI Amsterdam, bringing together professionals from finance, government, retail, e-commerce, healthcare, travel, and social media sectors. Expected are over 5,000 participants which will be able to attend conference sessions featuring more than 250 industry experts in eight conference streams. Over 250 leading identity solution providers will showcase cutting-edge technologies in a large-scale exhibition.
Identity Week Europe plays a crucial role in shaping the digital identity ecosystem by serving as a platform for innovation, collaboration, and policy discussions among key stakeholders. The conference brings together tech providers, policymakers, and end-users to showcase and discuss the latest advancements in identity verification, authentication, and fraud prevention. It provides a launchpad for new technologies like biometric authentication, decentralized identity, and AI-driven fraud detection.
Governments and regulatory bodies attend Identity Week to align policies with emerging technologies. Discussions on eIDAS 2.0, digital wallets, and national digital ID programs are critical for shaping future identity frameworks. With increasing cyber threats, Identity Week focuses on improving identity security, zero-trust frameworks, and privacy-first identity solutions. Experts address the latest threats, regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, AML), and strategies to combat identity fraud.
By bringing together banks, fintechs, government agencies, travel authorities, healthcare providers, and cybersecurity firms, the event fosters partnerships that accelerate adoption and standardization of secure, user-friendly identity solutions.
On June 18 at 14:40, Matteo Panfilo and Jörg Lenz will present their keynote with the titel “European Digital Identity Wallet & Anti-Money Laundering Regulation: Game Changers for UX Improvements in KYC, Onboarding and Signature Processes“.
This session is addressing all those mandated to deal with the legal, technical, economical and cultural aspects of integrating and optimizing digital identity and identification verification solutions into their processes in regulated industries – e g KYC to fulfil Requirements to prevent money laundering and terrorism financing as defined for example in EU-Regulation 2024/1624 (AMLR) while also facing the need to lower operational expenses and reduce process abandon rates in onboarding processes. Based on some dedicated requests prior to Identity Week Europe we will run a reality check on state of play and outlook in the evolution of the European Digital Identity Framework, results of some of the Large Scale Pilots for EUDI Wallet Prototypes and cover for example:
- Will the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDIW) really make a difference?
- How Electronic Attributes May Accelerate Onboarding and Enable New Use Cases
- A Realistic Timeline for Identity Proofing: What the future holds for KYC and KYB between eIDs, Wallets, and Remote Verification
- How Will the AML Regulation Change the Game in 2026?

Matteo Panfilo will also participate in a roundtable on May 17, at 12:10 and discuss about “From Promise to Practice: Turning the Wallets and Identity Proofing into Business Value“. As Europe prepares for the rollout of the EUDI and Business Wallets, organizations face both opportunity and complexity. This roundtable is exploring how to move from regulatory ambition to real-world impact, focusing on the role of identity proofing—both for individuals (KYC) and organizations (KYB)—as a key enabler of digital trust services. Learn how to identify new use cases, overcome interoperability challenges, and unlock the power of the wallets and attributes through practical applications that deliver real business value.
